Abraham Lincoln Memorial Tree: Recycling Planks of History

Feb 16, 2011:  Wood crafter recycles planks of history By Linda Girardi From the Beacon News.

Recently, Josh Huskins, owner of Amberwood Reclaimed Lumber, acquired the wood from the Abraham Lincoln memorial tree in Batavia, IL that had to come down after it was damaged in a severe windstorm last October.  Huskins specializes in using reclaimed lumber for custom woodworking for homes.  “We can do all sorts of projects with something that a tornado took down. We are providing a service by having it cleaned up, keeping it out of the landfill and keeping new trees from being harvested.”  Read full story here.
