Part 3: Looking Back at Woodworking Education in America – Circa 1906-1908

Part three of our look back at woodworking education in America  – circa 1906 -1908 – continues while we are away from the office, attending IWF Atlanta 2012

The Manual Labor Woodworking Classes at University of Chicago Laboratory School during the very early 1900′s included men and women, with the designing of toys and furniture an area which many women were drawn to.

And in glancing over through documents highlighting e entire curriculum, it is interesting to note that construction, art and music were continually grouped together, as were nature studies, science, home economics and woodworking.
